Leah McSweeney Addresses Bruised Face and Her Future On ‘RHONY’
Leah McSweeney has The Real Housewives of New York fans concerned on several fronts. First, rumors circulated that she wouldn’t be returning for her second season due to a salary disagreement. Then came the bruises under her eyes, causing fans to fear for her safety.
The founder of Married to the Mob clothes line cleared up both questions on her social media over the weekend. She joined RHONY as a newbie for Season 12. While she quickly won over fans, she didn’t win over co-star Ramona Singer. The two verbally sparred at the reunion, but why is Leah sporting two black eyes?
RHONY Star Explains Bruised Face
Late Sunday night, fans became concerned for Leah McSweeney. Several fans noticed that she had matching black eyes. They became concerned that she had gotten in an altercation. She did.. with a plastic surgeon’s scalpel.
The RHONY star made a short video addressing the controversy. Leah shared the video on her Instagram Stories. In the clip, she explains why there are black bruises under her eyes: she had a nose job.
In the video, Leah says she’s “not trying to hide” her surgery. She cops to getting “a rhinoplasty and a septoplasty.” However, it doesn’t sound like it was purely cosmetic, per Page Six. While she admits to “wanting [a nose job] for so freaking long,” she also says she will be able to “breathe” again.
As RHONY fans know, a police officer hit Leah in the face years ago, damaging her nose and teeth. Leah sued and used the money to start her own clothing line.

Leah McSweeney Reveals Her Future on The Real Housewives
Even before her bruised face, Leah McSweeney was making headlines. A rumor started last week that she wouldn’t be returning to the Bravo show due to contract negotiations.
The various The Housewives franchises are facing major cast shake-ups this year. RHONY star Dorina Medley quit after an alcohol-fueled Season 12.
RHOBH lost Denise Richards after a season in which she was the target of her “mean girl” co-stars.
NeNe Leakes recently announced she won’t be returning to RHOA.
In January, both Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson quit RHOC.
So, fans were not happy with the idea of losing another housewife, especially a fan favorite like Leah McSweeney.
Well, good news, RHONY fans! On Monday, September 21, Leah confirmed that she WILL be back for Season 13. She replied to a fan’s comment on social media, saying her “work here isn’t done.”

RHONY is rumored to join RHOBH in making history by adding the first Black housewife to their cast. Actress Garcelle Beauvais had that honor during Season 10 of RHOBH.
Reportedly, motivational speaker Bershan Shaw is set to join the NY housewives for Season 13.
