‘I Quit’ Exclusive Preview: Tricia Helps Marcus and Chris Up Their Blue Cooler Game

On the next I Quit for Discovery, mentor Tricia Clarke-Stone travels to Utah, where she challenges Blue Cooler COO Chris Studdert and CEO Marcus Sorensen to up Blue Coolers marketing game.

Heading to a stunning riverside, she meets up with the guys.

Tricia greets them and says: “What I really want to impress upon Marcus and Chris is that they need to lean into storytelling that is how they’re going to win at this game. They need to figure out who and what their brand is and what they stand for.”

What happens on I Quit?

After the two men welcome her to sunny Utah, they introduce their blue cooler.  Getting right down to business, Tricia asks; “So how much is this cooler?” Chris amd Marcus explain that their cooler retails for a direct to consumer sale of $159.

This confuses Tricia, who asks: “Why am I going to spend $160 on this cooler? Sell me on why?”

The two men explain that what differentiates their product from the competition is the price point.

They reason that the quality is such that no one can compete with their prices. But Tricia isn;t following that.

She asks: “But can you build a business purely on my price…because what if after meeting you guys I’m like, all right…I’m going to start red coolers and I know this is 160 bucks. Can I come in at $130?”

The men explain the coolers are part of a lifestyle and their clientele know that they are getting the best value.

Tricia is not so sure and says: “I’m a big fan of Marcus and Chris but where they really need to focus is how to take the energy and the passion that they have and turn that into a brand positioning and a brand identity that could basically jump off the shelves.”
