‘The Kissing Booth 3’: Will Netflix Renew For A Third Installment?
The Kissing Booth 2 just dropped on Netflix today and subscribers are already anxious to know whether a Kissing Booth 3 is going to happen. Fortunately for you, we were also eager to know whether Netflix would renew for a third installment of The Kissing Booth. So, we’ve done a little research. And, here’s what we know about whether Netflix will move forward with The Kissing Booth 3.
What kind of release date would The Kissing Booth 3 have?
Now, let’s assume for a moment The Kissing Booth 3 is going to happen. There was a two year gap between when Netflix released the first Kissing Booth and the second. So, if Netflix decides to move forward with a Kissing Booth 3… We can expect it to have a release date between May and August of 2022.
It, however, is important to keep COVID-19 in mind. The current pandemic did pause the production of most things. And, when things started to “get back to normal” the virus caused some places to shut right back down.
Moreover, extra precautions being put in place would slow production anyway. Given how much kissing takes place in a movie called The Kissing Booth, we can assume the production team would need to be extra diligent with sanitation because of the virus.

Has Kissing Booth 3 been confirmed by Netflix yet?
Unfortunately, Netflix has not confirmed whether The Kissing Booth 3 is going to happen. But, the fact that Kissing Booth 2 was just released today is a pretty big factor. It is normal for the streaming giant to make sure there is still an interest in the movie before they move forward with a third installment.
While some people don’t know this, The Kissing Booth is based on a book series by Beth Reekles. Unfortunately, per Decider, she only wrote two books. And, she doesn’t have any intentions of writing any additional books for the series. So, if Netflix moves forward with a third movie, they would need to bring more writers on board as there is not a story line to work from.

Renewing for a third installment makes sense.
Now, it makes sense for Netflix to renew the movie for a third installment. After all, The Kissing Booth 2 ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. Not a huge one, but viewers have no idea what school Elle decided to go to.
And, during graduation, Marco wasn’t interested in hearing what his friends had to say about Elle. His friends told him that she wasn’t worth all the sulking and longing from a far. Marco, however, disagreed. It definitely didn’t sound like he was ready to throw in the towel. He knows what he wants. Would we get another movie of him fighting for Elle’s affection?
Would the cast come back for another movie?
Joey King tells fans she would love to come back and play Elle for a third movie. In fact, she confirmed she and the rest of the cast really want a third movie to happen. She, however, believes Netflix is waiting to see how the fans respond to the second movie. Will they like it as much as the first one? Will fans want a Kissing Booth 3?
Me and the cast have been talking, and we want that so badly. We’re kind of relying on the fans to help us out. They loved the first one so much, they’re the reason that we got a sequel. So if they love this one and they make it known to the world and to Netflix, our fingers are crossed that Netflix will give us a third movie because that’s what we want, really badly.”

Kissing Booth 3 doesn’t have a red light. But, it doesn’t really have a green light either. As those who follow Netflix know, the streaming giant loves to revive and renew to appease fans. So, Joey King encouraging fans of the movie to make it known they want a third installment is an ideal approach.
So, Kissing Booth 3 is certainly a possibility. But, whether it will happen is currently up in the air. Fortunately, the cast is onboard for a third movie if Netflix decides to renew.
