Madison Prewett Bases Her Friendship With Selena Gomez On Faith

Bachelor, News, Reality TV

Madison Prewett is big on faith. The 24-year-old made that clear when she appeared on Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor. She refused to sleep with Peter during Fantasy Suite Week. Madison wanted to stay true to herself and her faith.

She made a vow to save herself until marriage. Madison hoped that Peter would stick to her ultimatum. But, unfortunately, he slept with the two other women – Hannah Ann Sluss and Victoria Fuller – during the Fantasy Suite dates. Madison left the show as the underdog of the show. She stayed true to herself and was one of the most popular among Bachelor Nation.

The former Bachelor contestant moved on from that experience. She’s not interested in dating. Instead, she’s focused on herself and her friendships. Madison Prewett became friends with Selena Gomez shortly after appearing on the ABC series. While their friendship comes as a shock to some, the two have more in common than it may look.

Madison said that her faith became the “foundation” of their unlikely bond. Back in March, Selena and Madison purchased board games with a group of friends. This came after the Alabama native confirmed her split from Peter.

“[Faith] is something that is just a really big part of our friendship,” Madison revealed to Us Weekly on Monday, June 15. “I’m very selective with who I allow to really, like, get really, really, close to me. And with those that I really invite to that space, it’s really important to me that we’re just pushing each other and encouraging each other in our faith, and just being there for each other on the good days, the bad days and encouraging and praying for each other along the way.”

Madison stayed true to her values on The Bachelor. At the end of Peter’s journey, she revealed that she was saving herself for marriage. However, shortly after the finale, Madison admitted that she should “probably should have shared” that piece of information “sooner.”

Like Madison, Selena spoke out about her own faith journey. She’s one of the many young celebs who attends Hillsong Church. She’s even written a few songs about her faith, including “Lose You to Love Me” and “Nobody.”

Bachelor alum says “faith” is No. 1 thing she looks for in a partner

Madison Prewett is all about her faith. It’s the main thing she looks for in a future partner. In a previous interview with Us Weekly, she shared some of the things she’d want in her next boyfriend.

“I would say my No. 1 thing, obviously, would be faith for me,” Madison said. “That’s going to be something that’s a make or break.”

She revealed that someone who has the “same beliefs” and shares the same “vision and goals is really important.”  Madison prefers to date a man who has “purpose” and “passion.” She wants to date someone similar to herself. The Auburn University alum said that her ideal guy is someone she can “continue to grow” with and inspires her to become a better person.

Shortly after the show, Madison wanted to focus back on her faith. She collaborated with FaithSocial to introduce a new social media platform for the Christian community.
