Bachelor alum Bekah Martinez is feeling comfortable in her own skin, especially during her second pregnancy. She wants her daughter to know there’s nothing wrong with women having body hair. The former Bachelor contestant and proud mom flaunted her body hair on social media. She wants to create a positive space for her daughter to grow up and love her own body.
Bachelor Nation is loving Bekah’s body-positive message. Earlier this week, she posted a new photo with daughter Ruthie Ray on Instagram about her unshaven legs. She admitted that her boyfriend Grayston Leonard loves her just the way she is. Read more about Bekah M’s body positive message below.
Former Bachelor contestant shares inspiring message on social media
As per Yahoo! Entertainment, Bekah Martinez fired back at the haters on social media. She wants her daughter to know that it’s okay for women to have body hair. Bekah posted a new photo with her 15-month-old daughter on Instagram that featured her unshaven legs. In the lengthy caption, she explained why she continues to post photos of her body hair.
“My daughter (and every other person for that matter) deserves to live in a world where they can exist in their natural body without feeling disgusting,” Bekah wrote. “My family will not be a family that passes down shame about weight, body hair, breast size, acne, height, or any of the other millions of things we’re taught are ‘unattractive.'”

I stumbled upon some recent comments on an old photo I posted months back and was reminded why it’s important to keep talking about and showing body hair on women. My daughter (and every other person for that matter) deserves to live in a world where they can exist in their natural body without feeling disgusting. My family will not be a family that passes down shame about weight, body hair, breast size, acne, height, or any of the other millions of things we’re taught are “unattractive”. At the same time I will never tell my children they can’t change their appearance. I can only help them navigate and process why they want to, as I have done for myself. Wearing makeup, getting my nails done, or waxing my eyebrows does not invalidate any of this. As I have stated many times before, I really wanted to stop shaving because body hair was something I was *ashamed* of and repulsed by, and I wanted to change my insecurity and accept that part of myself. Plus, I think it’s healthy to sit with things that make me uncomfortable. But also, I don’t owe anyone any explanation as to why I do the things I do with my body— notice how no one asks men why they shave their face and not their armpits 🙃 Lastly, for the record, my boyfriend thinks i’m hot as hell and doesn’t give a fuck about my leg hair 🖕🏼
Bekah is feeling more comfortable in her skin these days and it shows. The Bachelor Nation alum now accepts herself, as she is. Her body hair was something that she used to be “ashamed of and repulsed by,” and she has since changed her mindset.
The Bachelor fan favorite said that it’s her decision to decide whether or not she should remove her hair. And her boyfriend loves her just the way she is. Back in 2018, Bekah shared a photo of herself with her unshaven armpits on her Instagram Story. She simply told her followers that she wasn’t in the mood to shave.
Bekah M. is proud of her Mexican heritage
The Bachelor star doesn’t just post photos of her body hair just to flaunt it. She’s also proud of her Mexican heritage. Although she doesn’t owe anyone a reason as to why she doesn’t shave, she wants to share her story in an effort to inspire other women.
Bekah also revealed that she suffers from eczema. It occurs when she shaves her armpits. As for waxing, it’s too expensive. Plus, most body removal methods are painful and tiresome. So, she’s learned to embrace it instead.

If you've followed me for any length of time, you know I'm not afraid of being honest about female bodies! There are so many beautiful elements of being a woman, but some things are more difficult or awkward to talk about. While it's not the sexiest, vaginal health is INCREDIBLY important and knowledge is power. So let's chat about Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) for a minute. BV is nothing to be ashamed of! It's a common vaginal infection that affects millions of women every year. The typical symptoms of BV include a strong fishy or unpleasant odor, thin milky white or gray discharge, and possible itching, burning, or irritation. However, some women have no symptoms at all. You can get BV regardless of if you've ever been sexually active! If you think you may have BV, don’t put off seeing a doctor or try to treat it at home; if untreated, BV may increase your risk of other diseases and only a healthcare provider can prescribe the right treatment. I just want you to know that taking care of your body is NOTHING to be embarrassed about! Want more info? Check out @KeepHerAwesome at KeepHerAwesome.com and be sure to talk to your healthcare provider if you think you may be affected. #Sponsored #Lupin #BacterialVaginosis #BV #BVAwareness #VaginalInfection #keepherawesome
And because of her Mexican heritage, Bekah said she’s had dark body hair for most of her life. She’s felt the societal pressure to constantly shave. But she feels that it’s more liberating not to shave. Bekah truly doesn’t care what her haters think and her followers think she’s beautiful as she is.
