Like so many people my age, and maybe like you, i am a mix of contradictions as i try to figure out where i fit in. I can be tough one day and cry the next. I can get angry, but i can be vulnerable, too. My mood changes daily. I make mistakes. I am not afraid to try new things. I want to be successful. But i find the most meaning when i help other people. There’s something about giving selflessly that makes me my best self. Going on the bachelor brought a lot to me — some good, some bad, and some I’ll never be able to figure out. I went looking for love and found out more about myself than i imagined. Today, I get to add “Author” to the list of words that describe me among many other things. I hope that this book can resonate or help even just one person that is struggle or going through a rough time in their life. Thank you all so much for going on this ride with me. ♥️🤙🏼
Colton Underwood Didn’t Try To Hide His Feelings
Colton Underwood struggled with his emotions through his time on The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, and The Bachelor. His book, The First Time: Finding Myself and Looking for Love on Reality TV, is his tell-all.
On a question and answering session a fan asked him if he revealed any secrets from the set of The Bachelor. According to The Cheat Sheet, Colton said, “I talk through specific situations and how certain episodes were made.”
The Former Bachelor Opened Up About Mental Health
Colton Underwood shared a story about a reporter who, “felt concern about my mental health and thought it would be best for me to live my life off camera.” He ignored her warning as fans know. In the past he opened up on social media about his mental health. In a post for World Mental Health Day he said, “after my season of The Bachelor I was crippled with social anxiety. I lashed out at people I loved because I was frustrated with myself. Make sure to check on your strongest friend and family today and everyday.”
He said he wrote the book to feel like he had control of his life. Underwood gave up a lot to go on the show. Fans wanted to know if The Bachelor had some staged scenes, because there’s always been rumors. Colton said, “I’ll say this: I had to walk through doors a few times, take multiple showers and hold certain conversations for specific dates.” He went on to say, it wasn’t fake, but guided.” Fans will certainly devour this memoir in their downtime.
