Hallmark’s ‘Double Holiday’: All The Details

Career-minded Rebecca’s plans for Hanukkah go askew when a promotion opportunity comes up at work. When the company CEO asks Rebecca and her insufferable office mate, Chris – also her main competitor for the promotion – to plan the company’s Christmas party, she realizes they must overcome their opposing styles in order to succeed. Forced to work together on the holiday party, Chris learns more about Rebecca and her family’s Hanukkah traditions, while she also begins to see him in a new light. Although feelings slowly develop between the two, the ongoing competition over the promotion threatens to undermine it all. Hallmark’s latest offering is Double Holiday. This is about a rival couple who learn something about each other through their family celebrations of Christmas and Hanukkah. Starring Kristoffer Polaha (Dater’s Handbook) and Carly Pope (Arrow), this is Hallmark’s latest Countdown to Christmas movie.

What Is Double Holiday About?

Rebecca Hoffman (Pope) is eyeing a big promotion, so when her company’s CEO tasks her and Chris (Polaha), her competing co-worker to head up the company Christmas party, she knows she has to make it work. Eventually, she puts aside her animosity towards him for the greater good. In other words, this task is too important.

In their process of spearheading the major event, Chris begins to see Rebecca in a new light. He sees her spend Hanukkah with her family and celebrate their traditions. Rebecca, in turn, learns more about Chris, as he opens up about his own Christmas celebrations. This closeness is disrupted when the competition for the promotion comes into view again. Is there any chance this couple could put aside their differences and find love?

Hallmark Ventures Into ‘New Territory’

Kristoffer Polaha spoke to Parade about Double Holiday. Foremost, he calls this a “sweet story.” He went on to share that Hallmark has now ventured into “new territory” as they share “beautiful Hanukkah traditions.” Most of all, this is a story about the “value of family.”

Growing up, Polaha celebrated Hanukkah with one of his friends, Eliza. He cites “playing the dreidel” and latkes are two of his favorite highlights. Although he will enjoy a latke with sour cream, he admits he is an “applesauce guy.”

As for Double Holiday, he promises that audiences will laugh and will cry. Have your tissues ready!
