An IRL ‘Friends’ Reunion Occurred This Past Weekend and Fans React To The Pic

Over the weekend, Courteney Cox sent all her fans into feels-mode when she posted a picture of herself, and her ex-costars on Friends, Jennifer Aniston, and Matt LeBlanc in a Friends reunion of sorts, reports Popculture.com

The One Where Monica, Rachel, and Joey Get Together (AKA ‘Friends’ Reunion)

It has been fifteen years since the last episode aired and the three still look like the best of friends with calm and content smiles. Cox captioned the selfie, “a rare night and I love it.” “Rare” being the keyword as fans always seem to enjoy and wax nostalgic over pics that the stars share on their social media.

Fans Respond

Fans went wild on the post and left comments reminiscing. “So no one told you life is gonna be this way,” wrote one fan, in reference to the Rembrandt’s song, “I’ll Be There For You,” made ultra-famous by the show. “I’m crying,” wrote another, and “I love how they nonchalantly post this like it wouldn’t spark a pandemonium,” added another fan. Many of these fans eagerly await any hint of a possible Friends reunion episode or movie.

The show continues its popularity thanks to TV reruns and Netflix and the chatter about a Friends reunion continues, especially recently that the cast and fans just celebrated the 25th anniversary of the show. Recently “there was a special three-night showing [of select episodes] across the country at participating movie theatres. The event brought in a whopping $2.9 million. There were 1,600 theatres involved in the second highest-grossing movie release,” the article states.

Could There Be A Reboot or Reunion Episode In The Future?

But despite all this, it seems there is no reboot in sight because, theblast.com reported today that during an interview with Howard Stern, Jennifer Aniston explained that “I honestly think we would love it … however, there is an idea that if there is a reboot of the show it will not be even close to what it was … it would ruin it.”

Aniston also mentioned in her Howard Stern interview that the picture that Cox posted was just a snippet of who was there–it turns out it was a dinner where other Friends co-stars attended at Courteney Cox’s home.

So for now, fans will have to fulfill their wishes of a Friends Reunion with any of the rare real-life friend’s reunions!
