Duggar: Joy Shares First Picture After Miscarriage
In May, Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth announced that they were expecting their second child together. Then, two weeks ago, they shared that they had lost the baby. They shared a heartbreaking post on their joint Instagram account. In the post, they wrote,
“Today marks one week since we heard these words…’So this is your baby’s heart (pointing to the ultrasound screen). I don’t hear a heartbeat or see any movement.’ We had gone in for our 20-week ultrasound and gender reveal. It was a baby girl. Although we don’t understand why, God has given us unexplainable peace and comfort during this very difficult time. Yes, it still hurts and we have cried countless tears, but we know that we can trust the Lord.”
Then, they added, “We named her Annabell Elise. Annabell means ‘God has favored me’, and Elise means ‘God satisfies’. What a precious thing to know that when our daughter opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the face of Jesus.” In their post, they asked their followers for prayers during this hard time.

Shortly after the announcement of the loss, they had a photos shoot with their stillborn daughter. Joy’s friend Carlin Bates visited her to do her hair and makeup before the pictures. Then, Austin and Joy shared these intimate photos on Instagram.

Joy Duggar and Austin Forsyth post first picture after loss
Since the loss of their daughter, Joy and Austin have been taking their time to grieve. During this time, they have not been posting on Instagram. On Monday, they decided to post again. Their most recent post features Joy cuddling with the couple’s one-year-old son, Gideon. He is their only child. In the caption, they used a few emojis but didn’t add any words.

In the comments, fans are being very loving and supportive. A couple of the Duggar family members have left sweet comments too. Anna wrote, “Such a sweet little guy! Bedtime snuggles are the best”. Josiah Duggar’s wife Lauren commented and said, “So precious!”
The family’s followers are continuing to offer to pray for Joy and Austin. One follower said, “Lots of love for your family. I hope you’re doing good.” Another wrote, “Many blessings on the healing of y’all’s hearts.”
