On social media, we often see the highlights of people’s lives. Some choose to share about the hard times too. There’s a reason social media is sometimes referred to as a “highlight reel”. Overall, Anna Duggar tends to post the happier moments of her family’s life on social media as most people do. She shares cute updates about her kids and baby announcements. Because the fans miss seeing them, they love that she does updates.

On Monday, she opened up and got a little more honest about motherhood. She shared a photo of herself with her youngest son, Mason. In the caption, she said, “When my first child was born, I guess I had lots of expectations for how things would be. Once she arrived, I quickly realized that babies don’t always play by the ‘rules’ and that unpredictability is what makes parenting such a unique responsibility. When you think you have just got it figured out, things change.”

She continued, saying, “When Mason our youngest arrived, he was diagnosed with a dairy allergy. After talking with the pediatrician, I began searching online and trying to find answers.

Then, Anna mentions that she found an app called Peanut. This app is meant to connect mothers to one another. She describes it, saying, “The app introduces you to women in your neighborhood based on the things you have in common—interests, mutual friends, age/gender of your children, and so much more! You can meet, chat, join groups and ask questions to a community of like-minded women. Connecting with like-minded moms who are walking through the same thing as me has helped me find answers, solutions and support.

Anna Duggar loves being a mother

Anna seems to love being a mother. Though she does post a lot of the positives of motherhood, she seems to enjoy every part of it. She and Josh Duggar recently announced that they are expecting their sixth child this fall. They are currently the proud parents of Mackenzie, Michael, Marcus, Meredith and Mason.

In a post on the Duggar family blog, they said, “We couldn’t be happier to share with the world that our family is growing by one this Fall. We continually stand amazed by God’s love, redemption, grace, and blessings in our lives. Our entire little family is ecstatic!”

Prior to the announcement, she said, “We would be thrilled if God blesses us with more children! Right now I am enjoying the 5 beautiful children He has given us!”

Though Anna has probably learned the ropes of motherhood as this point, she will likely still be using the Peanut app for additional support with this new little one. It’s important to have community and to have friends no matter what stage of life you’re in.
