Derick Dillard Gives Peek At Very Unconventional Church Service
Derick Dillard shared an unconventional church service he took part in. On Christmas Eve, he took to Instagram to share a clip that shocked fans. It’s not the kind of church service that even the Duggar family would attend. As fans already know, Derick is married to Jill Duggar.
She’s one of the many kids in the ever-growing Duggar family, who are devout Baptists. On 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On, they would often share their views on their faith, which has its share of controversy. For example, the sisters aren’t allowed to wear pants and can’t listen to any modern music.

On Friday, December 24, Derick took to Instagram to share a clip from this unusual church service. It looked like something out of a rock concert. In his Instagram video, people are dancing on stage and performing for a huge crowd. Neon lights flash as the lead singer performs an electrifying version of Andy Williams’ classic song “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”
The lead singer wears a red two-piece suit. What’s also interesting is that the singer is rocking long hair. He looks as if he’s a rock star. It’s an unconventional church service, especially when it comes to the Duggars.

Fans flocked to the comment section to share their thoughts. One fan wondered why Derick chose this particular song to feature in his Instagram post. The user thinks he knew the kind of reaction he would get. Meanwhile, other fans speculated about whether they would attend such a church service.

- “I am so glad I am Catholic. Quiet song of prayer. … I never got into this stuff.”

Derick tagged Cross Church in his Instagram post. According to the official website, there are three locations in Northwest Arkansas, each of which has “7 amazing worship experiences to choose from.” Cross Church promises to deliver a “God-inspired message from the Bible.” Yet, fans weren’t feeling it in Derick’s post.
Is this worship or a rock concert?
Many of the fans took to Derick’s post to debate about whether this church service was appropriate. As previously stated, most fans were not a fan of the “rockstar vibes” of this church service. They were grateful to attend something quieter on Christmas. But not all of the comments were negative.
Some fans admitted that they went to a church service like this and they loved it. They still felt the presence of God in the noise and flashing lights. Another fan said they appreciated Derick’s videos since they can’t celebrate the holidays with their loved ones. Regardless, some debated whether it was worship or a rock concert.

I think these type of church services are great! This is what people need today especially to bring our young people to the Lord. We can’t just keep doing the same old thing. Traditional church services are becoming empty attendance wise.
