Netflix’s ‘A California Christmas: City Lights’: Stars Josh Swickard, Lauren Swickard
On Thursday, Netflix is dropping A California Christmas City Lights. This sequel stars a real-life married couple, Josh (General Hospital, Roped), and Lauren (Twisted Twin, Dear White People) Swickard.
Together, they created the first Netflix movie. Now, one year later, they have the sequel.

According to the Netflix trailer, it is a year after we left Joseph (Josh) and Callie (Lauren). Now engaged, the city slicker has comfortably settled into the ranch owner’s world. That means that the couple is running both the dairy farm and the winery.
However, Joseph has been separated from his family and his father’s real estate business. But, the development company needs some attention. That means a trip to the big city, San Francisco.
Now Callie has to figure out her place in Joseph’s world. She is seeing her fiancé in a different light, around his friends, and even a woman with whom that he may have had a cozy relationship.
Moreover, it looks like they need to do some party planning. We have to wonder if perhaps they will need some wine, and perhaps some dairy products to make this a truly festive occasion?
In addition to the Swickards, David Del Rio (The Baker And The Beauty, Pitch Perfect), Amanda Detmer (Empire, NCIS), Ali Afshar (Casa Grande, Born A Champion), and Laura James (America’s Next Top Model, S.W.A.T) also star.

When Did They Film A California Christmas: City Lights?
Josh and Lauren Swickard had a very busy 2021, but they still had time to film A California Christmas: City Lights.
First of all, they wrote the script while Lauren was pregnant. According to Variety, Netflix was so happy about the first movie, they “fast-tracked” the second movie. They had to do it all in 2021. However, they had to wait for a certain baby to be born first.
Second, back on April 2, they had a baby daughter Savannah. Josh has gone to Instagram to post many adorable photos of daddy-daughter dates.
Next, they filmed in late June and finished in early July. That is because Josh was on hiatus from General Hospital. On this ABC soap, he portrays Harrison Chase, and he was able to take a break to work some more.

When A California Christmas: City Lights nearly wrapped on July 13, Lauren went to Instagram to give her thanks to those who made it happen.
