Several of the Duggar daughters are taking legal action! Around the time that Josh Duggar was convicted for receiving and possessing child pornography, his sisters took the next steps in their own legal battle. So, what exactly are the Duggar girls doing, and what is the latest on the situation?

In case you didn’t know, former Counting On stars Jessa Seewald, Jill Dillard, Jinger Vuolo, and Joy-Anna Forsyth have been fighting against InTouch Weekly and local police agencies. This all began in 2017, just two years after InTouch reported that Josh had molested four of his sisters, as well as one other young girl.

Due to the 2006 police report being leaked, InTouch reported on the molestations that were previously hidden by the famous family. Because the police reports were allegedly confidential, the Duggar girls have been suing several media companies and government agencies linked to the leak. Now, they’re taking another step in the lawsuit.

The Duggar daughters move forward with their lawsuit.

The Sun obtained court documents, revealing that the young women added an influential attorney to their legal team. Hilary Potashner is officially a part of their battle, it seems. Potashner was previously a Federal Public Defender. Her experience shows in her bio, which reveals she’s a “skilled courtroom advocate.” The attorney was honored as the 2020 Defense Attorney of the Year. Her achievements were recognized by the Los Angeles County Bar Association Criminal Justice Section.

A source connected to the famous family has shared more details about the legal battle. The source spoke with The Sun, revealing that the outcome of Josh’s trial could have an effect on the sisters’ own lawsuit.

The source also stated, “They’ve been allowed to proceed on their case against the police department and a couple of police officers. That was supposed to go to trial the same week as Josh’s trial, but it got reset. If there is a trial, the damages could be cut as a consequence of Josh’s conviction.”

There aren’t too many details about the case and what’s going to happen next for the family. But fans should be on the lookout. Derick and Jill already revealed that there has been a family fallout, and fans and critics predict that more is going to come out soon.

For now, however, fans have plenty of other things to focus on, from Josh’s guilty verdict to Jim Bob’s recent election loss.
