Derick Dillard Voices Hypocritical Views Of Jim Bob Duggar’s Senate Run
Derick Dillard has something to say about Jim Bob Duggar’s views in his Arkansas State Senate run. As you may know, Jim Bob announced his campaign just before his son Josh went to trial in his child porn case. Due to the timing, fans and critics have been critical of Jim Bob’s decision. Even though his son was convicted in early December, Jim Bob isn’t backing down, which comes as a shock to fans.
Immediately after Jim Bob announced his run, his son-in-law Derick questioned that decision. He left a thinking emoji in the comments section of a news article about Jim Bob running for office. Then, he recently signed a petition to get Jim Bob off of the ballot. Now, he’s speaking out against his father-in-law again. What is Derick saying this time?

Derick recently spoke to TMZ and shared more of his thoughts about his father-in-law’s senate run. The former TLC star believes that Jim Bob’s chances of winning the election went down when Josh was convicted. But that isn’t the only thing that Derick believes will impact the outcome of the election. He thinks that Jim Bob’s previous stances on s*x crimes will play a role too.
When Jim Bob campaigned in 2002, he said that someone who r*ped a woman should be executed. Though Josh’s recent child porn charges aren’t exactly the same, Derick points out that this is pretty hypocritical of Jim Bob. Jim Bob would likely take a different stance now that Josh is behind bars.
TMZ notes, “Derick says Jim Bob’s come across as less than transparent or credible due to vague statements he made while Josh was under investigation.”
When Derick signed a petition in hopes of taking Jim Bob off the ballot, he added a comment, which reads, “Individuals with a long history of lies and deception do not belong in public office. Candidates need to practice what they preach.” So, he is heavily questioning Jim Bob’s honesty during this time.
Derick also revealed which candidate he’s pulling for in the election. Rather than voting for his father-in-law, Derick is on team Colby Fulfer.
