Jenna Johnson & Val Chmerkovskiy Won’t Join The ‘DWTS’ Tour
If you follow the Dancing With The Stars tour Instagram page, you might notice that rehearsals are underway. Your favorite pros from the past season and a few special guests are hard at work to bring the magic to stages across the country. But a few faces are absent. Among the missing are Jenna Johnson and her husband Val Chmerkovskiy.
Why are this amazing husband and wife duo opting to sit out of the tour this year?

Dancing With The Stars fans will definitely miss Jenna and Val on tour this year. But they aren’t the only ones sitting out. Sharna Burgess previously said in interviews she couldn’t make the time commitment. Lindsay Arnold and Witney Carson also haven’t been spotted in the rehearsal room. But both women have small children at home and that could be why they aren’t going on tour.
So why are Jenna and Val sitting out?
Heavy notes that Jenna Johnson guest-starred on Olivia Jade’s podcast to fill everyone in. As you know, Olivia Jade and Val competed together in Season 30.
“Val and I aren’t going on the Dancing With The Stars tour this year, which is wild for us because we’ve been on about seven of them,” the 27-year-old dancer said. “You know, it’s hard to say no because we love performing, but I think it’s time for us to start being our own family and, you know, being married — and not being married on the road or on a TV show. I’m excited to have this moment together and to have some time to just breathe out, take our time with things.”
In past interviews, Jenna and Val said they really wanted to start a family but only when the timing was right. Could this be a hint that they’re thinking strongly about children now?
So what does this mean for their future on the show?
Even though fans won’t get to see Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy on the DWTS tour, the couple will still keep busy. They’re running their own project called “24/7 Dance” where they will travel around the country and teach dance to children.
But Jenna isn’t done with Dancing With The Stars altogether. She stated in a recent interview that she will be back for Season 31 as long as the show will have her. However, the same can’t necessarily be said for Val. He could always change his mind but said that Season 30 was most likely his last.
“I will for sure be back here. It will be different [without him], but I think it would be also awesome,” Jenna told ET. “I love being able to do different projects from each other that we can support and help each other thrive on. So I know he would be really invested in my season, just like he is now. But I’m not done dancing with my hubby on that floor yet. Not done yet.”
