Anna and Josh Duggar (KW Josh Duggar jury)

Josh Duggar’s jury has begun deliberating as of Wednesday, December 8. Fans and critics have been keeping a close eye on Josh’s case and trial, hoping for answers very soon. The jury continues deliberating on Thursday, December 9. While we don’t know the verdict at this time, some insight into what’s going on behind the scenes has gone public.

In case you don’t know, the former 19 Kids & Counting star was arrested in the spring for receiving and possessing child pornography. The downloads were traced back to his car lot’s IP address. When the investigators showed up, he asked what the investigation was about and asked if someone had been downloading child porn.

Now, the trial is coming to an end with the jury beginning their deliberations. If convicted, Josh is facing up to 20 years behind bars, as well as $250,000 in fines per count (one for receiving and one for possessing). He would be serving his time in a federal prison, which would not allow for conjugal visits. Additionally, he would be far from his family due to the locations of the federal facilities.

Josh Duggar Jury Questions

Though the jury hasn’t gotten very far in their deliberations, they did ask a couple of important questions before calling it a day on Wednesday. They spent about four-and-a-half hours deliberating on Wednesday.

At one point in their deliberations, the jury requested to listen to an audio recording from the investigation, which began in 2019. In the recording, Josh is interviewed by law enforcement for about 25 minutes. Josh discusses his devices and some of the technology.

Also in the recording, Josh is told about the reason for the investigation and that his IP address has been connected to child porn downloads. He asked some questions and also wondered “there [is] something going on on my devices.”

In the audio recording, Josh says, “I’m not saying that I’m guilty or not.”

After listening to the audio recording, the jury went back to their room. Meanwhile, one juror stayed back in court and asked to see a calendar from May 2019 until now. However, the judge declined the request because it wasn’t a part of the evidence or testimony during the trial.
