Blake Shelton has been part of NBC’s The Voice since the beginning. While he was already a big country star at the time, his career catapulted. He also met his wife Gwen Stefani. The singer has dominated the country music charts and award shows for two decades. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to fans that he makes a lot of money.

Blake has been at the game for a while. He’s come a long way since his debut single “Austin” in 2001. After he graduated school, Blake left home and went to Nashville to pursue his dream of becoming a famous country musician. Little did he know that he would go to become one of the most popular entertainers and television stars.

The Voice coach jokes that he’s Gwen Stefani’s “lazy deadbeat husband”

On Monday, December 6, Blake made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. During their conversation, he opened up about his wedding to Gwen Stefani. The 45-year-old musician and the 51-year-old singer exchanged vows at Blake’s Tishomingo ranch in Oklahoma. He claims that he’s a “lazy deadbeat husband” for not helping her with the wedding planning.

“At one point, I was saying in an interview, ‘We’re letting Gwen do whatever she wants for the wedding.’ And then some writer wrote, ‘Well, oh, look, he’s already a lazy deadbeat husband,'” Blake Shelton said before joking, “But the truth is: I am.”

The “God’s Country” singer doesn’t know anything about wedding planning. He just wanted Gwen to have her dream wedding. All he had to do was show up, say “I do” and kiss her in front of everything. He called it “the greatest gig I’ve ever had.”

Blake also opened up about Adam Levine’s noticeable absence from the wedding. Ellen played a funny clip where Adam joked that he “didn’t approve” of the couple’s marriage since “she’s so cool and he’s not.” Blake joked “that’s the reason why we didn’t invite him to the wedding.”
