Emily Riedel is going to be a mother. This has been quite a whirlwind year for the opera singer. On May 7, she married Alex Trokey. In this crazy time of Covid, she managed to meet her future husband, and now she is going to have a baby. Pretty perfect times for the tough and talented gold miner. Emily Riedel married Alex Trokey back in May. The couple will have a baby girl sometime in March 2022. How did the couple meet? According to the Bering Sea Gold star’s Instagram, the couple was introduced by her brother, Paul Riedel.
On April 8, 2021, Emily wrote, “One year ago we had our first date at my Homer cabin in the midst of pandemic madness. Thx to my brother Paul for being a one-time matchmaker. Also, for this dope sauna. Also, thank God for this gent. @paulriedelcarpentry.”
That means that the couple met on April 8, 2020. Good job to Emily’s brother. She met a keeper. The two were engaged in January. By May, her father, Steve Riedel, was walking her down the aisle.
Who is Emily’s husband, Alex Trokey? According to the Homer News, Alex is a Chicago native. Originally, he went to Homer, Alaska for missionary work. Then, he started to work with an outfitting team at Bay Weld Boats.
Alex Trokey has a degree in finance and even worked in consulting and sales jobs, living in some very big cities like Chicago, and Washington, D.C., but never found his place in the big cities. However, he never found community there. But, he found it in Homer. He also found his forever love and family there.
