‘Men In Kilts: A Roadtrip With Sam And Graham’ Will Be Back For Season 2 On Starz

Fans of Outlander gather up, the second season of the reality travelogue Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham starring two of Outlander’s main male actors from the Scottish time-bending romantic drama are back for season two. Starz sent the announcement to TV Shows Ace today, November 30.

Initially, the travelogue reality series Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham took the two strapping male stars, Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish (Jamie Fraser and Dougal Mackenzie on Outlander) out and about the hills, mountains, and lowlands of Scotland, where rugged sea coasts and charming lochs and villages are bookended by major cities like Edinburgh, Inverness, and Glasgow.

The first season was based on the pair’s book, Clanlands: Whisky, Warfare, and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other, and in her foreword, Outlander author Diana Gabaldon explained the appeal of a man in a kilt succinctly and what lies beneath the tartan.

In season one, the two reunited for this epic adventure filmed in Scotland, exploring their heritage and meeting a diverse collection of people who showcase what it means to be Scottish. The half-hour, eight-episode first season offered the duo’s one-of-a-kind perspective on everything from Scottish clans and the Battle of Culloden to whisky tasting and folk dancing, with Sam and Graham’s presence and natural banter coloring an unforgettable and intimate look at their homeland.

Whether hanging off the edge of a cliff, wrangling a flock of wild sheep, or discovering the true legacy of their Outlander characters, both men went fearlessly into every experience. This new second season effort is a part road trip and part immersive journey of continued self-discovery, all laced with wit, appreciation, and stunningly delicious food and drink.

But the second season has a twist.

About the new season of the series Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham

Outlander stars Sam Heughan, and Graham McTavish will hit the road again for a six-episode second season of the hit travel docuseries Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham – this time in New Zealand.

Developed by Heughan and McTavish, the original series is produced by Boardwalk Pictures, in association with Sony Pictures Television.

The two actors have figured out the gameplan as they travel way down under away from the mothership of Scotland to a place where many British, Irish, and Scottish people emigrated to, New Zealand.

Heughan and McTavish conceived the original idea and served as executive producers alongside Alexander Norouzi, Andrew Fried, Dane Lillegard, Sarina Roma, and Kevin Johnston, who also serves as director.

Starz reveals the premise.

Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham is a humorous yet poignant at times travelogue led by Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish.

The two have cracked the code and know the audiences cannot get enough of their chemistry, whether in character or themselves, proven by the enormous critical reception of their first season that saw the two actors ride, hike, and explore their native Scotland.  The ratings and reviews were so good. So the two pushed the premise outward to explore another magical place, New Zealand.

The two excel at reality immersive adventure travel experiences. Their natural chemistry and curiosity will reveal the Scottish influence of New Zealand while diving into its own history.

Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham” is greenlit and expected to return in 2022.
