About Reno 911!

This satirical mockumentary hit the 100 episode mark as it ran from 2003 to 2009 on Comedy Central. It briefly had a resurrection on Quibi for 25 mini-episodes back in 2020.

However, the original series ended with a bang, an explosion that wiped out a few of the Reno Sheriff’s Department’s deputies at the end of season 5.  The establishment blown up accidentally blown up was Tacos! Tacos! Tacos! where Terry (Nick Swardson) had worked. The Department float went rogue and crashed into the restaurant.

The deceased were Deputy Garcia (Alazraqui), Deputy Kimball (Birdsong), and Deputy Johnson (McLendon-Covey). But somehow, they were back from the dead for the Quibi effort.

But for season 6 of the original run of Reno 911!, the lack of Deputy Garcia, Deputy Kimball, and Deputy Johnson left a mark on the ensemble.

Despite all the time away from the series, the original cast picked up their characters effortlessly, like riding a bicycle. Their Quibi run was also critically well-received, and now Paramount+ has picked up the ball.
