Jim Bob Duggar Blames ‘Cancel Culture’ For Wrongly Defining His Family

As we reported earlier this month, former 19 Kids & Counting star Jim Bob Duggar has announced his run for the Arkansas State Senate. This announcement came as a shock due to his son, Josh Duggar’s current child pornography case. For those who don’t know, Josh was arrested in the spring for receiving and possessing child pornography. He goes to trial on November 30.

Due to the timing of Jim Bob’s announcement, as well as some other big family news, fans and critics wonder if the family is trying to cause a distraction. They speculate that the Duggars are trying to create additional noise to drown out whatever happens during the trial.

However, it’s unclear how calculated Jim Bob’s run and announcement truly are. His campaign site had very little content on it until recently. Now, Jim Bob has added more information to his campaign website. Some of the details include his family

Jim Bob Duggar thinks ‘cancel culture’ has given his family name a bad reputation.

Under the “Why I’m Running” tab on his campaign website, the former TLC star shared some of his feelings about the “liberal left.”

His statement reads:

“I will not allow the liberal left, social media, or fake news to define me and my family. Like so many other families, we too have faced crises, difficulties, and heartbreak. ‘Cancel culture’ and the radical left want to keep us from being involved in politics. They say because our family has faced problems we should shrink away—this is why they are often so relentlessly unkind, but we cannot sit on the sidelines during a time when one of America’s most important battles is taking place! We are devoted to doing our part and making a difference for our children and grandchildren.”

Following Josh’s arrest, the Duggar family has received lots of negative attention, and it hasn’t died down. Over the years, the family has been involved in many different scandals due to Josh’s actions. As a result, two of the family’s shows, 19 Kids & Counting and Counting On, have even been canceled by TLC.

So, what do you think of this statement on Jim Bob Duggar’s campaign website? Do you think that he’s accurate in placing the blame on “fake news” and “cancel culture?” Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
