Season 1 arrived on Netflix on July 2, 2021. However, Netflix had already officially renewed it for Season 2 on August 19, 2020. What’s on Netflix quotes Barry as saying in an interview that they were finishing Season 1, but had many more avenues to go down story-wise. They decided to create a folder thinking, if they are lucky to get Season 2, there were some ideas they could draw from. Once the show was completed, the team regrouped to talk about ideas.

When the series was officially renewed on August 19, 2020, the cast and crew came together via a virtual call to confirm Season 2.

As you can see, the cast was very excited, as they had no idea it was happening.

Season 1 in brief

The climax at the end of Season 1 left Warrior Nun fans longing for more action and now, of course, they are going to get it. During the season, the Order of the Cruciform Sword’s true purpose was revealed. They turned out to be mere puppets for Adriel against the forces of Heaven.

Meanwhile, Ava revealed his true identity when he touched her. On top of this, the original knights of the order mistook Adriel for an angel after he killed a Tarask monster that trailed him through a demonic portal.

Adriel hid away in the tombs of the Vatican, hiding the halo inside the original Warrior Nun. Moreover, once he created the Order, this gave him Heaven’s protection. When he escapes from his tomb, Adriel seeks to recapture the halo from the Order. Once he has that, he plans to carry on with his nefarious plans. Meanwhile, Shotgun Mary has been overwhelmed by the possessed forces of Adriel. This leaves Ava and the other sisters to take on his small army of Wraith Demons.

Season 2 of the Netflix Original series Warrior Nun

In Season 2 of Warrior Nun, Ava and the Order will bring the fight to Adriel. On top of this, as the devil reveals himself to the world, instead of standing alone. This means that the forces of Heaven could descend on the Vatican to help the Order.

For the time being, Ava’s skill as the Warrior Nun is growing despite the fact that she is outmatched in power. This could mean that she will be more than a match in the fight against Adriel and his demonic powers.

What is the release date of Season 2?

While fans are likely already excited, regrettably it could be a while until the second season of Warrior Nun drops on Netflix. In fact, it is only likely to arrive in 2022. Filming got underway on July 26, 2021. Meanwhile, most of the series wrapped filming on November 3 in Madrid, Spain.

While it is likely to need a little more filming, the bulk of filming of Season 2 is now complete.

New Cast for Netflix Original series Warrior Nun
