Joe Amabile Defends Katie Thurston, Blake Moynes Breakup Joke
Joe Amabile likes to talk about all things Bachelor Nation. He’s in an adorable relationship engaged to Serena Pitt and happily talks about that on his podcast, Clickbait. Joe hosts the podcast with Tayshia Adams and Natasha Parker. However, for the past few episodes, Tia Booth from Bachelor in Paradise has been guest hosting.
Fans shared a clip of Joe talking about Katie Thurston and Blake Moynes splitting and now he’s clarifying his statement. Joe said in an interview after seeing Katie and Blake’s mutual statement, he wished a couple would tell the truth.
He said he wants to see, “we mutually f****ng hate each other. We hate each other thank you for all the love and support, but the past six months have been terrible.” He went on to say if he and Serena broke up it would be messy and they’d talk s***.”
Serena and Joe caused fans to swoon when they fell in love during the latest season of Bachelor in Paradise. Despite some obstacles like Joe’s ex Kendall Long showing up on the beach, they remained strong.
Joe Amabile Says He Was Just Joking
Joe Amabile said he didn’t want to throw shade at Katie and Blake’s split. He said, “I’m sure that was taken out of context. It was just a joke, and it was a funny one.”
Channeling his usual goofiness he said, “sometimes I tell funny jokes, what am I gonna do?” Serena agreed with him that a breakup between them would be messy.
She said, “we’re engaged, we’re in love, we plan to spend the rest of our lives together, it’s not going to be a small hiccup, like, it’s going to be ugly or something huge.” Fans love them together.
The couple revisited their prom king and queen roles for Halloween. They just added a little blood. One fan said, “you two are so adorable and look so happy.” Another commented, simply, “this is everything.”
When asked how he handled fans scrutinizing every post he makes or doesn’t make he said everyone has been supportive. Joe said, “I don’t really let it affect me or my relationship right now.”
He Is Rooting For Both Of Them
According to US Weekly, Joe Amabile is in complete support of Katie Thurston and Blake Moynes after their spilt. He said, “I think whatever is best for them individually is what they need to do at this time.”
Blake and Katie seemed solid after he won her season of The Bachelorette. In a joint statement, they asked for privacy, but both have spoken out individually on their platforms. Katie said they just weren’t meant to be in each other’s lives. They remain friends.
