Katie Thurston started her journey as a contestant on Matt James’s season of The Bachelor. Blake started on Clare Crawley’s season which quickly became Tayshia Adams’s season of The Bachelorette. There were a lot of skeptics when Blake then showed up on Katie’s season.  it became clear fairly quickly the two of them had a connection.

Thurston had a huge following on TikTok before she ever went on The Bachelor. She often talks to her audience about every aspect of her life. Thurston said, “a public relationship ending is s****y, but you guys have been very kind and supportive.”

Katie Thurston Is So Happy To Have Her Fans Behind Her

Katie Thurston said both of them are level-headed. She said they knew after six months it wouldn’t work if they tried to stay together. She said they didn’t think they’d be happy.

In her story, Katie said they, “mutually decided to part our ways, but we still stay in touch, we still support each other; nothing but love and respect truly.” According to US Weekly, she captioned the video, “just venting. Shoutout to Tommy for always being there.”

Tommy is her cat. The cat clung to her like he was hugging her through the hard video and she got emotional. One commenter said, “Tommy knew his role.”

She Believes In Happiness Above All Else

Katie Thurston said, “your happiness is the most important thing and that being said, why would you not pursue that?” She said she and Blake were able to recognize that things weren’t working out early. They’d only been dating for six months but they learned a lot about each other.

About getting emotional she said she didn’t expect to cry. Thurston said, “at the end of the day your happiness is what’s important, if something is taking it away, then we owe it to each other to step away.” The Bachelorette went on to say that wasn’t a dig at Blake just at them as a couple.
