Jill Duggar is still in grieving mode. However, the Counting On alum isn’t letting that keep her down. Instead, the former reality television star is finding ways to cope and to move on, while still remembering the child she almost had.
Jill Duggar In Mourning
As part of her healing process, it appears that the young mom wanted to find a way to put together a kind of homage to the baby she lost in a recent miscarriage. Despite not being pregnant for very long, the family had been planning for the new arrival. They’d even gone so far as to pick a name, River.
However, not long after the family learned of the pregnancy, Jill Duggar lost the baby. She and Derek Dillard clearly took the loss hard as both took some time off from social media. When they returned, they put out a video that showed the journey they’d been on.
It was indeed an emotional roller coaster. They documented how they found out, using a pregnancy test. They also showed how they told the kids they were about to get a sibling. Then they explained they knew that there had been a miscarriage and the former reality tv stars made it clear they were dealing with loss.
As part of the way they’ve decided to cope with the loss, Jill Duggar took a trip to get a special item. She took Sam in tow in order to help pick it out. She took to Instagram to share that they had picked out what’s known as a “memory box” for River.
Alongside of a picture of the box they chose, the Counting On alum explained her plans for the container.
“We will keep pregnancy tests, hospital band, letters & anything else we want to remember the baby by in here.” she wrote.
Dealing With Loss
In addition to showing what she and Sam had picked out, the former reality tv star also asked her followers an important question.
“Have you lost a baby?” she wrote. “What helped you process your loss and/or remember your baby?”
By doing this, it appears that she wanted to both share about her pain and try to help others deal with theirs.
Sadly, there were plenty of followers who had stories similar to hers and they were more than willing to share.
“We lost a baby in June of 2020,” one fan wrote. “Last year at Christmas, we had our kids pick out a gift for the baby and donated it to our local pregnancy center. It’s a tradition we are going to continue each year.”
“My husband bought me a necklace with our baby’s birth stone,” another wrote. “We used the stone from the month we lost her/she was born into Heaven.”
