Before Dancing With The Stars Season 30 premiered, Mel C teased that she and the Spice Girls may make a musical guest appearance on the show. But will any of that happen now that Mel C and her partner Gleb Savchenko have been eliminated?
Mel C of the Spice Girls really hoped she’d go farther in the competition
Absolutely no one wanted Mel C and Gleb to leave the competition. But it came down to a tough decision for the judges. Do they save the member of the Spice Girls or influencer Olivia Jade? It came down to a split vote and Len Goodman used his power as head judge to save Olivia Jade.
“It’s very surreal because it’s really intense. I was so committed… everybody on the show is, and all of a sudden it’s over,” Mel C admitted to ET after the episode. “I did really hope and think I’d be there a little longer.”
“I think there’s a whole album out there waiting to be written after this experience,” the singer said about her time on the show. “… I’ve done so much in my life. … I’ve had a great career. I was a Spice Girl, I was a solo artist, I’ve done theater, I’ve done so many different things, but nothing prepared me for this.”
For now, she said she’s still “licking her wounds.”
Will the old band get back together for a Dancing With The Stars performance?
It’s hard to say whether or not the Spice Girls will perform on the show after Mel C’s departure. Without a doubt, they cheered their bandmate on from home.
“I really want to embrace that in the show, so it would be lovely and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we get spice action,” Mel C told ET about the possibility of a Spice Girls reunion back in September. “It’d be rude not to, right?”
But a live performance on the show may not be as likely now.
Mel C will go back to her normal life, which includes singing, recording, and keeping up with the rest of the Spice Girls.
But even if the girl group doesn’t get together for a performance on Dancing With The Stars, another tour may still be possible.
“This has to happen. We talk about it constantly. We did the shows in 2019, the plan was to continue on,” Mel C continued. “Of course, the world has been in such turmoil, but the plan beyond this is to get out there when it’s safe, when we can do it. What’s tough is there’s so many artists that want to get out there, and there’s only so many venues, so we’re all kind of queuing up going, ‘I want to! I want to!'”
