Fans Not Impressed With ‘The Bachelor’ Clayton Echard On ‘The Bachelorette’
Fans seem to be split on whether or not Clayton Echard is a good choice for The Bachelor. Fans finally got to meet the new lead during The Bachelorette premiere featuring Michelle Young. It seems a rather large portion of fans were not very impressed with Clayton. Keep reading to find out some reactions from across Bachelor Nation.
Many fans not impressed with Bachelor Clayton Echard
US Weekly shared that many fans were not impressed with new Bachelor Clayton Echard during his debut on The Bachelorette. There are some who can’t seem to figure out how he was cast as the new lead without fans even knowing his name. So far, Michelle Young seems to like Clayton. He did receive a rose on night one ensuring him moving further on her journey. However, fans obviously know he does not win the season since he moved on to be cast for his own season of The Bachelor.
His entrance from the limo featured him carrying a yardstick. He announced his mom is also a teacher. Plus, Clayton said he has a lot of respect for men who make a bold entrance. Michelle greeted him and said, “I don’t think I ever thought I’d be spanking a grown man’s butt on national television. But here I am!”
What did fans have to say about Clayton’s debut? Twitter went crazy with comments. One viewer said, “Of all the men I’ve seen just tonight, I’m still confused how Clayton is the next Bachelor.” Another fan wasn’t impressed with his choice of shoes. They said, “Clayton didn’t even get nice shoes for the first night and that’s the new Bachelor?”
Many compared him to Colton Underwood
Another viewer said Clayton Echard reminds them of former Bachelor Colton Underwood. They said, “This guy is just Colton Underwood 2.0.” Another added in, “Take a shot every time someone accidentally calls Clayton Colton.”
So, while many were not impressed with Clayton, there were some who did like him. One fan actually called herself a smitten kitten. Another said, “I mean he has to have a sense of humor and confidence to have done that ruler entrance.”
Another fan said, “Clayton and his brothers understood the assignment.”
Clayton Echard is currently filming his season of The Bachelor. It should wrap up in November and will air on ABC in January 2022. This will also be the first season with Jesse Palmer as the new host.
