Is ‘The Blacklist’ Season 9 Coming To Netflix?

News, Scripted

James Spader will continue to play Raymond Reddington, a criminal turned FBI informant who has helped the authorities capture countless notable criminals over the years on The Blacklist for a ninth season.

Netflix has carried the show in many regions (more on this below) since the show’s inception reportedly paying up to $2 million per episode. So when can people expect to see the newest season on the streaming service? That all depends on a few issues.

The first factor is just how many episodes are going to be involved in The Blacklist Season 9. There are currently three episodes confirmed but beyond that, it’s simply not known how much the current season is going to include.

The Blacklist Season 9 On Netflix

When season 9 of The Blacklist will be on Netflix will entirely depend on where you live.

Most of Netflix carries the show with a few notable exceptions. The biggest exception is Netflix UK which doesn’t have access to the show at all because the rights (both broadcast and streaming) were sold to a different service entirely in Sky.

Some regions of Netflix will get weekly drops of the program as it might be the only place you can see it. If your region of carried weekly episodes of Season 8, you’ll get similar treatment again for Season 9.

When it comes to the United States and Canada, you’re probably used to the regular launch schedule of these types of shows. That means that it won’t arrive on the streaming service until the entire season has aired. It’s actually usually closer to when the new season is getting ready to air live.

All of Season 8 was added to Netflix in the US on October 6, 2021. All the prior seasons of the show hit in September. While there isn’t an official date of when Season 9 will land on the streaming service, it stands to reason that what could be the final season of The Blacklist will arrive sometime in September of 2022.

Of course, there is one caveat in that. On occasion, shows that have wrapped their entire run will come to streaming services sooner. With no Season 10 locked in just yet, there is a possibility of this treatment for the James Spader project.

For those not aware of where The Blacklist Season 9 will go, it’s going to have a bit of a time jump.

While most of the plot of this season has been kept under wraps, there is a synopsis that sheds some light on where the first episode will take the audience.
