What Is Hallmark’s Debbie Macomber’s A Mrs. Miracle Christmas About?

Tis the season for the Miracles of Christmas. What is Debbie Macomber’s A Mrs. Miracle Christmas about?  According to the Hallmark press release, as the holiday season begins, Laurel (Doubleday) could use some good news.

She and her husband, Will (Lund), have been praying for a baby that seems more and more like an impossible dream. In addition, they’ve had to move in with her beloved grandmother, Helen (Shaw). Unfortunately, she’s having trouble taking care of herself.

When Laurel contacts a local home-care organization for help, there are no caregivers available. That is until Mrs. Miracle (Rhea) appears at the door. No stranger to lending a helping hand to a family in need, Mrs. Miracle reveals herself to be nothing short of a godsend.

The Late Doris Roberts Originally Played Mrs. Miracle

Some Hallmark fans may remember that the late Doris Roberts (Everybody Loves Raymond) was the original Mrs. Miracle. Debbie Macomber, the writer of the novels that the Mrs. Miracle series is based on wrote a loving tribute on Twitter when Roberts died in 2016. “It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Doris Roberts, our one and only Mrs. Miracle!”

However, for those fans who are concerned that the prolific writer is not on board with a new Mrs. Miracle, they should feel comforted to know Macomber is quite excited about the new movie.

Just recently, she posted on Twitter, “Excited to finally share the news! My book, A MRS. MIRACLE CHRISTMAS, will be a new Hallmark movie this holiday season! @randomhouse.” Furthermore, it should be interesting to see if they honor Doris Roberts in any way in this upcoming holiday movie.
