Star Trek: Discovery is heading for a release date on Netflix

Fans of the franchise can look forward to seeing Season 4 of the sci-fi giant Star Trek: Discovery on Paramount+ and, hopefully, Netflix. The new season is to be released on a weekly basis from a date in November 2021. Read on to find out more about Season 4 of the series, including a first-look trailer.

The latest iteration of the Star Trek universe was created by Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman is regarded as the best so far. It has been a while since we could watch episodes of Star Trek: Discovery, but the wait will not be too much longer.

In Season 4 of the series, Captain Michael Burnham and the crew of the USS Discovery are facing a threat, unlike anything they have encountered before. Meanwhile, both Federation and non-Federation planets are feeling the impact. Due to this, they must work together to confront the unknown and hopefully ensure a hopeful future for everyone.

Which regions carry the new season?

Star Trek: Discovery can be seen in every region outside the US and Canada. Some of the major regions include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, India, Japan, South Korea, Spain, the UK, and more. In those regions, the series bears the Netflix Original mark.

Star Trek: Discovery cannot currently be watched on Netflix US or Netflix Canada. This is due to the fact that ViacomCBS opted to keep streaming rights to the series exclusive to Paramount+. Basically, it hopes that fans will subscribe to that service. Meanwhile, Amazon Prime Video picked up the international streaming rights to Star Trek: Picard and Star Trek: Lower Deck.

When do new episodes drop on Netflix?

In the case of previous seasons of Star Trek: Discovery, the episodes dropped the following day on Netflix after premiering on what was then CBS All Access. Now, the service has moved to Paramount+.

Readers should note that as reported by What’s on Netflix, the streaming channel has given no indication that it will be airing Season 4. However, it is hoped that the streaming channel will air weekly episodes as it did in the past.

Starting from November 18, 2021, the episodes will drop on Paramount+ on Thursdays. The episodes will then hopefully be released on Netflix the following day at 8 am GMT. For example, Episode 1 arrives on Paramount+ n November 18, and on Netflix the following date on November 19 and so on.
