One of the Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition couples is Jamal “Mally Mall” Rashid and his girlfriend, Tresure Price. The couple met at a party in 2017. However, Mall’s alleged alcohol addiction and legal troubles put him in prison. Now, Tresure and Mally Mall’s relationship is long-distance.
What lands Mally Mall in prison?
Shockingly, Mally Mall was arrested in May 2021. This is a result of the prostitution business he supposedly ran between April 2002 and September 2014. The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada said Rashid, “operated a high-end prostitution business that transported victims across the United States.” Additionally, the statement says that Rashid “used paid websites to advertise the victims for prostitution purposes.”
The women were called “Priority Girls,” and Rashid allegedly charged his clients $1k-$10K for a date. The investigation shows that the women only received a small portion of the money made. Not only that, there were strict rules the women were expected to follow. “After a woman became a Priority Girl, she quickly learned that defendant expected her to follow many rules,” reads the sentencing memo by Acting U.S. Attorney Christopher Chiou. The memo also shares some of the rules. Some of the rules that Priority Girls were “required to text him when they went anywhere, they were not allowed to date anyone.” One of the more shocking rules is that the victims were encouraged to get Mally Mall “related tattoos to demonstrate their loyalty to him.”
How long will he be in prison?
In October 2019, Jamal “Mally Mall” Rashid pleaded guilty to the use of an interstate facility in aid of unlawful activity. The defendant turned himself into the Federal Correctional Institution in Sheridan, Oregan. At the moment, he is expected to be released on December 15, 2023.
In a statement, Rashid’s lawyer, Steve Sadow explains how the music producer tries to make amends for his past. “Mally Mall over the last several years had dedicated his life to music and helping people. He has fully recognized the error in his ways and has gone out of his way to make amends.” When it comes to life in prison, Sadow explains, “[Rashid] intends to take full advantage of each and every program offered by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.”
