‘Locke and Key’ Season 2: New Villain

With a new villain, new evil awaits. Season 2 is around the corner so that means new dangers are in store for the Locke siblings. In Season 1 we saw the youth discover and explore the power of the keys. The youth also learned to adapt to a new life. They adapted to new friends and discovered many secrets. However, Dodge proved to be a deadly secret they didn’t expect. With the opening of Season 2 on October 22nd, there will be much more.

Treachery of Dodge

Locke and Key is known for its mystery and magic. In addition, the villains play a key role in the magic. Season 1 brought us a demon named Dodge. The body-altering demon bullied the younger son and his siblings throughout the series. She wanted to possess the keys and their power. She secured the Anywhere Key from Bode as a trick. He needed to free his mother from the mirror. She was trapped in the Prison of the Self. After Dodge got the Anywhere Key, she gained the power to be free. Unleashed from the well, Dodge used the key to manipulate situations to her advantage. Which, in the end, worked very well. The siblings had no idea what they had done.  

In addition, Season 1 had many aspects that allowed us to be creeped out. The father’s death, the unspoken murder, the keys in the neck, take your pick. Dodge proved to be a formidable villain. After all, she knew the power of the keys. The siblings, in the beginning, thought it was fun and games. However, they soon learned that their lives were in peril. On the other hand, Dodge had no concern for anyone who got in her way. For instance, she threw a kid in front of a train to get one of the keys.

New Villain

Season 2 adds a new villain to face. The new season will possess new scares and thrills for the Locke siblings. As a result, Kevin Durand joins the series as Frederick Gideon. Durand plays a British Revolutionary War Captain who becomes an enemy to the family. If the name Durand sounds familiar, those of you who watched The Strain will know him as Vasiliy Fet, the rat guy. He will undoubtedly bring a new level of evil to the series. In fact, he will also appear in Season 3.

What about Season 2

Whispers that Season 2 will be darker are already swarming. For instance,  this Season promises new keys, new magic, and darker supernatural beings. With that being said, the villain will have big shoes to fill. Dodge, with her sly ways and murderous intent, provided betrayal, and thrills. This demon kept the audience in suspense. She made the siblings miserable and, in fact, caused the loss of a friend. Lastly, let’s not forget. Dodge is not dead. Will she team up with the new villain? Will they eradicate the siblings? Only one way to find out. Watch Locke and Key Season 2 on Netflix on October 22nd.
