Katie Thurston has some feelings about the Season 7 Bachelor in Paradise finale. However, a tweet she sent out while watching the episode live is no longer on her Twitter. Did she delete the somewhat shady tweet?
Katie Thurston navigating long-distance engagement
Katie Thurston was engaged to Blake Moynes for months before they could publicly share their love for one another. Due to the format of Bachelor Nation shows, the final rose ceremony often tapes weeks or months before it makes it on the air.
The happy couple lives in a bubble for that time, shut off from the outside world. However, once the finale airs, the engaged – or just dating – couple opens themselves up to scrutiny.
Katie Thurston and Blake Moynes are no exception to this unspoken Bachelor Nation truth. Rather than try to keep their relationship away from the public eye, the pair embrace the chaos.
They have been open about the difficulty of having a long-distance relationship. Especially living in different countries. Katie is a US citizen and Blake resides in Canada. They are still trying to figure out where to plant roots.
Bachelorette alum feels ‘some kind of way’ watching finale
Katie took to her Instagram Stories during the October 5 BiP finale to share her reactions. Watching other couples get engaged had the former Bachelorette caught up in her feelings.
She posted on her IG that seeing the happy couples made her miss her own fiance, who is half a continent away.
Blake’s career in wildlife management has taken him to Africa. While the two plan for Katie to join him on a future trip, it wasn’t feasible this time.
Blake often shares clips on his own Instagram Stories of the wild animals he encounters, as well as the work he’s doing there.
BiP sees historic THREE engagements
Bachelor and Bachelorette castoffs hit the beach looking for another shot at love for the summer guilty pleasure show. Season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise featured a former lead – Becca Kufrin – for the first time ever.
It turns out that her appearance wasn’t the only historic thing to happen this season. THREE couples got engaged at the final rose ceremony.
Joe Amabile popped the question to Serena Pitt; Maurissa Gunn accepted Riley Christian’s proposal; Kenny Braasch and Mari Pepin are already planning their wedding.
However, for as many engagements as there were, it seemed there was an equal number of break-ups, including Becca Kufrin dumping Thomas Jacobs.
Fan-favorites Noah Erb and Abigail Heringer also called it quits.
Or did they? Kufrin and Jacobs reconnected after filming, as did Erb and Heringer.
Did Katie Thurston delete this shady tweet?
Did ABC run out of money for all the engagement rings they’ve paid for recently? In the last year, the network has paid for Clare Crawley, Tayshia Adams, and Katie Thurston’s engagement rings. Plus the three from this season’s BiP finale.
And Katie has some thoughts about it. She took to Twitter to throw some light shade on the couples who didn’t get engaged, but reunited after filming.
In a now-deleted tweet caught by Instagram account @bachelornation.scoop, Katie jokes that the show “didn’t wanna pay” for so many rings. She added that she sends her love and happiness to all of the engaged couples, even if she is missing her own fiance.
