Supermarket Sweep Season 2 coming soon

Good news for fans! Supermarket Sweep has been renewed for a second season. The American game show consists of a quiz show that relies on grocery shopping skills and knowledge of manufacturers and prices. Then, the teams will have to race around the supermarket to shop for the most items. The team with the most expensive purchase wins the round-robin game.

Unbeknownst to some fans, the original series aired from December 20, 1965, to July 14, 1967. Revivals later aired on Lifetime TV from February 5, 1990, to June 16, 1995, and then April 3, 2000, to May 23, 2003. The host for the ’60s game show was Bill Malone. Actor David Ruprecht hosted the Lifetime and PAX TV versions.

The host for the revival is comedian Leslie Jones. Fans weren’t sure about the first season when it first premiered last year. Some fans weren’t sure if Jones was the right host for the job. They felt that she was a little too excited to host the show. Others loved the new format and thought it was a great fit for ABC’s Fun and Games, which features rebooted versions of classic game shows. The second season is set to premiere on Sunday, September 26, 2021.
