I Love A Mama’s Boy is one of TLC’s guiltiest reality pleasures. The series returns for a second season on August 29th and is even more cringe-worthy than before. The show revolves around couples who are trying to make their relationships work. There’s only one caveat- mom. The boyfriend/fiance’s mother is abnormally close, hence the title. So, how will the trios make it work in the end? Time to meet the cast and see the insanely explosive preview for the upcoming season.

I Love A Mama’s Boy Returning Cast

A few couples still have some unfinished business and will be returning to the series, according to E!Online. Matt and Kim are back for Season 2 and in the middle of planning their wedding. However, Matt’s mama, Kelly is making it harder than it has to be. Kim is head over heels for her groom but she sees Matt can not say no to Kelly. “I love Matt so much. But Matt’s always struggled with setting boundaries with his mom.”

Also returning are Emily and Shekeb. They have gotten back together but this means Shekeb’s mom, Laila is coming along for the ride. Just because Emily is going to be a Mrs. does not mean she will easily come first. She just does not realize this hard truth yet.

Finally, Mike and Stephanie have returned. She is ready to follow her passions but his mom, Liz has other plans. Liz is steering Mike towards a life of settling down near her. She sees no need for him to be transient even if it means letting down the love of his life. It is clear Liz will say and do whatever she needs to ensure Mike listens to her over Stephanie. A recipe for disaster?

The Newbies and A Preview

As the returning cast struggles to survive, it only makes sense to bring on some fresh meat. Tracy and Bryan are attempting to plan their dream honeymoon. Yet, Bryan’s mom, Jayne is looking at this as a time to vacation and not help the couple out. Shee is supposed to be helping with their children. However, this is not in her game plan. Tracy is desperately trying to set ground rules for the relationship. Sadly, Bryan ignores them and acquiesces to his mom’s every whim and need.

Tia won’t marry Theous until he stops constantly bowing down to his mama, Carolyn. She says “jump” and he asks “how high?” Though Carolyn has a bad knee and seems to be needier of her son, she is more than capable of maneuvering around when she needs to interfere.
