Discovery has an exciting new series beginning tonight, Hunting Atlantis, that TV Shows Ace got the exclusive preview to share. Stel Pavlou, an author-turned-historian and researcher, and his geologist partner Jess Phoneix scaled ancient cliffs above the Black Sea.

Rappeling against the cliff, Jess analyzes the striations of the rocks and decides that Stel is on to something as the two get closer to finding out where the ancient city that Plato wrote about may lie.

Jess notes the limestone and other characteristics of the rock that may have clues.

She says: “This stuff is really weak, also really bad in big earthquakes or landslides.”

The findings confirm that the two are on the right track about something bigger impacting this area, perhaps a  regional catastrophic in this area that is extremely geologically active.

Stel is over the moon and says this news is fantastic. He has been searching and wondering about Atlantis since childhood.
