Jill Dillard Shows Off Her Garden – Does She Have A Green Thumb?
Jill Dillard comes from a family that loves living amongst animals and plants. Did she inherit any gardening skills? Counting On fans know that Jana Duggar is an amazing gardener. However, it seems that her sister really battles a bit. So, she and the kids spent time in the garden. It looks like she still has some things to learn and she can’t claim a green thumb just yet.
Jill Dillard moved and the yard needs work
In May, as it started warming up, Derick’s wife told her fans that they think about their garden. They moved to a new place and the yard wasn’t already landscaped nicely. So, enlisting the help of her boys, Israel and Sam, she started work. At the time, she said on Instagram,” We love our garden and are excited to see everything sprouting and continuing to grow! The boys love checking it every day, rain or shine!” Well, Counting On fans saw that she planted “basil, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, forget-me-nots, thyme, banana peppers, squash, rosemary, bell peppers,” plus many others.
Jill Dillard also planted sunflowers, but it seems that they didn’t too well. Then, it seems like her bell peppers struggle a bit as well. Perhaps one day, like Jessa, whose kids sampled Jana’s produce, she might enjoy the fruit of all her labor. Actually, she mentioned on her Instagram that she knows a bit from Jana, but she could use a lot more experience. With the summer sun and the rain making for excellent growing conditions, she set aside a day this week for gardening.
Repotting and new planting with the boys
On her Instagram Stories this week, Jill Dillard told her fans that she intended on repotting her aloe. That is an indoor plant. Then, she said she also wanted to do some transplanting and replanting. Sadly, she explained that the peppers did not thrive. Additionally, sunflowers which usually seem to grow like crazy, also seemed a bit feeble. So, she said that she planted more of them. In fact, she took some inspiration from another Instagram account.
Jill Dillard and the boys got outside for some “extra sunshine” and she wished her followers a good day as well. It looks like she managed a good job with her aloe which sits happily on a shelf. Well, hopefully, it continues thriving. Perhaps this time, the sunflower seeds that she planted grow big and strong as they look so pretty and the seeds are good to eat. Certainly, it sounds like Sam and Israel will enjoy seeing them bloom a cheery yellow.
