As fans know, the Pretty Mess author is in the midst of a legal battle and divorce from estranged husband Tom Girardi. She used a meme to hint that she’s the “scapeboat” of these issues. Fan account DrunkDrawn created an image of Erika on a crucifix with flames around her feet.

Meanwhile, she’s seen screaming “Balenciaga” while wearing earrings that read: “Orphans” and “Widows. ” Her fans and followers don’t like that she’s trying to make light of the issue.

Erika Jayne causes controversy with image

While Erika Jayne didn’t create the photo, she’s sure getting heat for posting it. The caption of the original drawing reads, “This season on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills… The Crucifixion of Erika Jayne!” Erika flamed the fires by adding her own caption, which reads, “Scapegoat.”

Erika and Tom made headlines for months. A law office sued the couple for alleged fraud and embezzlement. The former couple is accused of stealing settlement money meant for the families of victims of the 2018 Lion air 610 plane crash. Allegedly, the duo used the money to fund their lavish lifestyles.

Many critics accused Erika and Tom of faking their divorce to “fraudulently protect” their assets. Erika’s attorneys argued that she has no role in Tom’s legal issues. In this season of RHOBH, Erika will try to portray herself as a victim of her husband’s legal issues and financial issues.

Attorney Ronald Richards said that Erika will be free of criminal charges unless there’s “clear evidence of knowledge.” The singer was not aware of Tom’s financial issues, but that doesn’t mean she’s completely “innocent.” Sources close to Erika say that she will share “everything” about their divorce on Season 11 of RHOBH. She wants to finally share her side of the story.

Now, back to the Instagram post. While Erika Jayne received over 17,000 likes for sharing the photo, some feel that she took it way too far. Rather than portraying herself as the victim, one fan claimed that Erika should “Own it.” Another user added, “* Clink clink* ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ.”

One commented with the violin emoji, meaning they have little sympathy for Erika. One asked Erika if she’s “still scapegoat” when she’s the source of her problems? Others think she shouldn’t comment about the case since it’s ongoing. “Girl why are you addressing this ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ,” one person commented. “People are not going to view this as you defending your innocence but you being defensive.”

Most of the comments in the post are negative. Erika has not responded to the backlash and won’t be anytime soon. She would rather use this season to share her side of the story. In the meantime, fans will criticize her for the way she’s acting about the divorce and legal drama.
