It was in January when we first reported on Honey Boo Boo’s boyfriend. Around the time, rumors were started to swirl the teenager had begun to date. During an exclusive sit down recently with ET, the family confirmed Alana Thompson, aka Honey Boo Boo, does have a boyfriend. What do we know about him? What does the family think about him? Honey Boo Boo’s boyfriend confirmed: Will fans meet him?
Alana Thompson confirmed she will eventually introduce her boyfriend via social media. Mama June added the relationship isn’t “official” until her daughter puts it on Instagram or Facebook. Fans, however, certainly understand why Honey Boo Boo would have reservations about introducing her boyfriend to social media. This would also be introducing him to the entire show’s fanbase. Fans would be quick to express their opinion on the young lad.
Honey Boo Boo, however, has made it clear in the past social media criticism doesn’t bother her. “I don’t really care,” she insisted as she was asked how she handles getting negative comments from trolls.
I’m going to do what I want. I’m going to do it regardless because it’s my life, so I don’t even care what they got to say about me.”
Fortunately, it sounds like she has a pretty healthy approach to criticism.
So, what does her family think about the budding romance?
Mama June and Lauryn, aka Pumpkin, both approve of the budding romance. In fact, it sounds like the young man fits in pretty well with the entire family. Even Alana admits she really enjoys having a boyfriend.
Lauryn confirmed Honey Boo Boo’s boyfriend comes over for dinners and to hang out at the house. She notes he’s an extremely respectful young man. And, everyone just really adores him.
She added Alana’s boyfriend has gotten close to the entire family. And, this includes her young daughter Ella.
I’m just glad that she is with somebody that’s like, respectful, that not only has respect for us when he comes into our house, he also has respect for Alana. Like, him and Ella are the best of friends. So it is nice to have somebody around that treats her well, but also treats like my family like their family.”
Whether fans get to meet this young man or not… It sounds like he’s treating Alana right. And, has folded into the family perfect.
