Did Derick Dillard just throw shade at Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar’s parenting? Does the bible verse he quoted on Twitter have to do with Josh Duggar facing prison time? What does the verse mean by “pay the penalty”??

Derick Dillard Quotes Bible Verse

Earlier this week, Derick Dillard randomly posted a bible verse that seems to be about the Duggar family. He has been vocal on social media about the inner workings of TLC and his wife’s estranged family, the Duggars.

Shortly after his brother-in-law’s arrest, Derick Dillard alleged that the network fooled viewers. According to Jim Bob’s son-in-law, the only difference between the shows 19 Kids & Counting and Counting On was the name.

As viewers know, 19 Kids was canceled in 2015 after Josh Duggar publicly admitted to molesting several young children 10 years earlier, including some of his sisters. The show was rebranded and returned as Counting On, without Josh Duggar.

In April, Josh Duggar was under arrest on charges of possessing explicit images of young children. He is currently out on bond, awaiting his trial in July. While Jill (Duggar) Dillard called the situation “very sad,” Derick Dillard had a lot more to say. According to In Touch, he momentarily thought he was being censored on social media after his replies were deleted.

But it seems that was a false alarm. In his latest post, Derick shares a bible verse seemingly about punishment. From Proverbs 19:19, the verse states,

“A man of great wrath will pay the penalty, for if you deliver him, you will only have to do it again.”

What does that have to do with Josh Duggar?

Is He Shading Duggar Parents?

One of the things Derick Dillard shares with his wife and the entire Duggar family is a deeply religious background. The specific verse quotes by Derick can have a lot of interpretations. But according to Bible Hub, the interpretations seem to agree that the verse is about punishment.

One interpretation states that the verse is about parents not punishing their spoiled child, causing them to get in trouble again. If that’s what Derick Dillard is indicating, is he saying that the Duggars are to blame for Josh Duggar’s behavior? Does he think Josh Duggar belongs in jail if found guilty of his alleged crimes?

Derick Dillard never returned to the post to elaborate, but he did receive several “Amens” from his followers.

Josh Duggar in Danger From Vigilantes?

Josh Duggar may be in trouble again, but from outside sources. As a condition of his release, he cannot live at home. Instead, he is temporarily residing with a friend of the family. Reportedly, the family he is staying with called 911 to report a suspicious vehicle staking out the house.

The family believes that the incident is about the criminal charges facing Josh Duggar. He will face those charges in court on July 6 when his trial begins.

TLC viewers have been petitioning the network to cancel Counting On and cut all ties with the Duggar family.
