‘DWTS’ Judge Derek Hough Gets A Sweet Tribute For His Birthday
You only turn 36 once! Dancing With The Stars judge Derek Hough celebrated his 36th birthday on May 17. His long-time girlfriend Hayley Erbert made sure it was a truly memorable occasion.
Derek Hough gets a fun birthday surprise from the love of his life
“My beautiful @hayley.erbert surprised me with a field day for my birthday. Fun games, good times and more importantly great friends 🙏🏼,” the dancer captioned a social media post.
The attached video shows Hayley leading a blindfolded Derek onto a baseball diamond. She removes his blindfold to reveal cheering friends and family members strewn throughout the field.

Hayley posted her own sweet tribute on her own Instagram page.
“Happy Birthday to my favorite person on this planet! No one can make me laugh harder, smile bigger, drive me crazier (in the best way), or love larger than you. I love celebrating you, today and everyday. I am so excited to see what unfolds for you this next rotation around the sun!” she captioned a nice photo of the couple, adding that she loved him “always in all ways.”
While other celebrity couples call it quits, Derek and Hayley seem stronger than ever
Quarantine has been pretty rough on most couples, but not Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert. In fact, the two seemed to really grow and thrive over the past year. They even started their own YouTube channel, Dayley Life. Fans can watch the two engage in hilarious antics and enjoy each other’s company.
“By the way, I don’t believe any couple had ever spent that much time with each other consistently, it’s so unusual,” Derek told ET last year. “So, the fact that it’s made our relationship stronger is great. We started a YouTube channel, we cook together, we do arts and crafts and things, and it is always a good sign when you are very content to sit with someone on the couch and fall asleep with four animals next to you and be like, ‘This is great, I like this.’”
Could an engagement be on the horizon any time soon?
Although the two seem really happy together, many fans still want to know when the couple plans on getting engaged.
Plenty of DWTS fans felt absolutely positive he would propose on live TV during their performance last season. However, Derek shot that popular rumor down before it had time to grow.
“I’m just going to be straight up, that’s not happening,” the DWTS judge told ET before the performance about the possibility of a live TV proposal. “Just because, that’s just not my style I don’t think, you know?”
So what does their current relationship status look like? A lot of celebrity couples tend to keep major news under wraps, so anything is possible. However, if Derek and Hayley are engaged, it is not public knowledge.
