Jill and Derick Dillard Escape Reality With Kids
With so much going on in the Duggar family, Jill and Derick Dillard decided to get away for a little bit. The couple, along with their sons Israel, 5, and Samuel, 3. She documented the short getaway on social media, showing fans that she’s taking time for herself, even when life is busy and challenging.
What’s going on with the Duggar family?
Jill and Derick decided they needed to take a break due to all of the drama going on with the Duggars. At the end of April, Josh was arrested for the possession of child sexual abuse material.
Not only did the family likely need a break from the challenges surrounding Josh’s arrest, but Derick just finished up law school too. After being overwhelmed with school, tests, and so much more, the family took some time to relax. Since Derick is on break now, this is the perfect time for them to get outside and enjoy themselves.
It’s unclear what’s next for the couple, but since they’re both active on social media, they will likely share more updates soon. Fans are eager to see what Derick has planned for his future.

On Instagram, Jill shares a few photos from their trip. The post includes lots of cute snaps from the special moments the family had together. In her caption, the Counting On alum writes:
“We escaped for a couple nights to the #buffaloriverarkansas 🤗 🦦It was so nice to get away in nature together on Derick’s break this week! No cell service and wifi are nice sometimes! We hiked, swam, camped, s’mores’ed, saw lots of critters and even some elk, explored and just chilled…as much as you can chill with 2 active kids begging for attention. 😉🥾🌲🐍 #steelecreekbuffaloriver you were good to us! Looking forward to next time! ✌🏻”
It looks like Jill, Derick, and the Dillard boys enjoyed themselves. In the comments section of the post, fans are commenting on how much fun the trip looks like it was. They love seeing how the Dillards are making memories together.
