Josh Duggar Officially Released From Custody – Leaves Jail In New Video
Josh Duggar was released from custody on Thursday, May 6, just one week after he was arrested for the possession of child sexual abuse content. Now, a new video of him leaving the Arkansas jail has gone public.
On Reddit, several Duggar Snarkers posted the alerts they received that Josh is out of custody. One user shares the official message. The user writes, “ARVINE: JOSHUA DUGGAR was released on 05/06/21. The release reason is: Released by court order.”
Josh Duggar released on conditions
On Wednesday, Josh had a detention hearing to determine whether he would be released. After the horrifying details of the content found on his computers were shared, the judge ultimately said he could go live with a third-party. He will be living with Lacount and Maria Reber. Lacount is a pastor, and the couple is friends with the Duggar family.
Josh will stay in their mother-in-law suite and be under their supervision. There are a number of conditions he will have to abide by while living there. For example, he can’t have access to the internet, he can’t be around minors except for his own children, and he will wear a GPS tracking device. If he breaks any of these conditions, Josh will pay a fine and go back to jail.
Josh’s trial is in July, so he will live with the Rebers until then. At that point, he may be sentenced. For now, he claims he’s not guilty.
It’s unclear if there was a bail or if he was released solely on conditions. No word of bail is public. If he was bailed out, it’s assumed that Jim Bob Duggar paid for it.

Channel 5 in Arkansas shared a short clip of Josh leaving jail this afternoon. In the video, a journalist asks, “Mr. Duggar, did you download child pornography on your computer? What do you have to say to the victims of s*xual abuse portrayed in those videos? Do you have a message for your family?”
Josh ignores these comments and steps into a black vehicle. In the video, someone is escorting him out the doors into the car. But it’s unclear who the man is.
