Earlier this year, rumors swirled that Tristan Thompson was battling COVID-19. He was one of the many Boston Celtics players sidelined during the shows. This came after he made his big cross-country move. Tristan signed a $19 million deal to play for the Boston sports team.
He previously played for the Cleveland Cavaliers. In January, Tristan was subject to contract tracing from fellow player Robert Williams. Now, it’s been confirmed that Khloe Kardashian’s boyfriend contracted the virus, just three months later. Read on to see how Tristan is doing today and when he will return to the basketball court.
Tristan Thompson suffered “all the symptoms of COVID-19”
The 30-year-old had a serious case of coronavirus. Tristan Thompson was so sick that it kept him off the court for about a month. Months ago, fans were aware that Tristan was kept off the court for an injury, but it turns out that he missed 13 games over the next 24 days due to Coriolanus. He revealed that his long time away was due to contracting the virus in which he possessed all the symptoms.
“When I had COVID, I had a bit of the symptoms,” Tristan revealed to Mass Live. “At least I kept my taste and smell so I can enjoy my food but that s*** was no joke. So, definitely going to get the vaccine when I’m eligible to get it.”
Tristan shares a daughter, True, with Khloe. The couple quarantined together amid the coronavirus pandemic. Currently, he is traveling with his NBA team and is no longer with his family in Los Angeles. In December, Khloe and True visited Tristan in Boston, which was a first for Beantown. During his interview, Tristan admitted that he didn’t luck out when it came to the virus.
“I wasn’t one of the lucky ones to have no symptoms,” Tristan added. “I was in a 12-round battle with that joker. But I won. I’m here now.”
He’s back on the court and is trying to improve his game. He wants to make a return to the Celtics. He loved the aspect of a “5-on-5 setting” with his team. Considering everything he’s gone through, he is hopeful about his future. In the meantime, Tristan is serious about his relationship with Khloe.
Khloe Kardashian had coronavirus as well
Tristan Thompson had the virus at the beginning of the pandemic. In a previous episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Khloe Kardashian revealed that she also suffered from coronavirus early on in the pandemic. She talked about her experience on the family’s reality show, which is coming to an end.
“Just found out that I do have Corona,” she said in her confessional. “I have been in my room. It’s gonna be fine, but it was really bad for a couple of days.”
Thankfully, Khloe’s symptoms weren’t as bad as Tristan’s. However, she did reveal that it triggered her migraines. KUWTK fans will be happy to hear that the couple is doing well. Khloe and Tristan have been opening up about their relationship on the show but kept it quiet on social media.
