Amy Halterman’s weight loss has been a huge inspiration to fans of 1000-Lb. Sisters. As People Magazine reminds us, the new mother kicked off Season 2 of the series 124 pounds lighter. She’d successfully had the weight loss surgery. And, she was pregnant with her first child. Getting pregnant was a dream come true for Amy. She and Michael had dreamed of having children together. But, because of her weight, she wasn’t sure it was a dream she could ever achieve.
Naturally, getting pregnant so soon after having weight loss surgery was terrifying. Amy, however, made it through her high-risk pregnancy. She gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Gage on November 10th, 2020.
Now, we previously reported on the inspiration behind the name Amy and Michael Halterman selected for their son Gage. The 1000-Lb. Sister star reached out to us to reveal outlets had been spelling her son’s middle name wrong. We, of course, revised our spelling of his name. And, we left the line of communication open if Amy wanted to answer a few questions for fans now that the season was over!
Respecting her contract with TLC, we asked Amy if she had any weight loss advice for her fans.
Amy Halterman offers weight loss advice for fans
Turns out, one of the biggest mistakes people make with weight loss is setting goals that are too big and unrealistic. Amy Halterman told us to “go pound per pound.” She, however, clarified there was nothing wrong with setting bigger goals. But, those smaller goals seem to be what really helps people keep going.
“I can set a big goal but say hey I wanna lose 5lb this week.” She continued to explain.
Fans were concerned pregnancy would slow her progress
1000-Lb. Sisters fans were terrified Amy Halterman would more or less get distracted by her pregnancy and stop shedding pounds. It, however, seemed as if Amy’s doctors stayed on top of her about not letting being pregnant cause her to stray too far from her diet. Fans who have spotted Amy in public and snapped a picture agree Amy is looking great. They can’t wait to see what the future holds for her, Michael, and their beautiful son.
