Originally, Adam and Danielle Busby planned for the quints to go to “big girl school” with Blayke this year. Blayke was entertaining the fourth grade. And, the quints were going into kindergarten. Unfortunately, COVID-19 tossed a wrench into the plan. There was a severe delay in when Blayke’s school would be open to the public. And, Adam and Danielle didn’t think they could handle homeschooling six girls. Especially if there was some sort of happy alternative available.

Adam Busby notes ‘it’s just Blayke’ when making decisions

Danielle and Adam Busby spend a chunk of the episode discussing their options for school. They want to send the girls to school with Blayke. But, they don’t want to struggle with homeschooling six girls. Adam and Danielle agree just homeschooling Blayke won’t be so difficult. Danielle noted she didn’t think it would be such a big deal if it was just Blayke going to virtual school. Adam seemingly agreed “it’s just Blayke” they were talking about. Some fans, however, couldn’t overlook the way it felt like Adam was brushing off decisions related to his oldest child.

Fans have expressed in the past that they worry Blayke doesn’t get enough attention because of her sisters. So, this particular conversation didn’t sit well for some.

OutDaughtered parents agree she’s a ‘good student’

Adam and Danielle Busby were on the same page about Blayke being a great student. Danielle also noted Blayke is very smart and likes to learn. Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean the quints are bad students or struggle to learn. Just that Blayke is older and there’s only one of her. Chances are pretty good teaching a group of five-year-olds is significantly more difficult. And, this is why virtual schooling was so hard for Adam and Danielle Busby.

While they ultimately decided to send the quints back to their school instead of to Blayke’s, it wasn’t an easy decision. Riley, in particular, was extremely upset about the decision. Hazel, however, seemed alright with the decision. After all, it might she got to see her boyfriend Graham every day at school.
