Robert Irwin Refurbishes Dad Steve’s Motorbike
Robert Irwin, 17, of Crikey! It’s the Irwins just finished refurbishing his dad’s motorbike. Steve loved his bike and during his lifetime, he took the kids, Bindi and Robert on it. Obviously, those fond memories remain and Robert proudly rides on it these days. Taking to his Instagram, he shared a photo of himself on it. And he looks heartbreakingly like his father.

When Steve died after a stingray barb lodged in his chest, young Robert was still a very small boy. It happened while he filmed on Australia’s Barrier Reef in 2006. But the family still honors him all the time. Bindi remembered her dad at her wedding to Chandler Powell last year. “Crocodile Hunter” Steve, as fans know, simply adored the Australia Zoo. So, she held the ceremony in the gardens there.
The Animal Planet star also made sure a big picture of Steve sat mounted on an easel. And his beloved dog Sui featured in the picture as well. Her mom, Robert Irwin, and Bindi all remembered Steve in a candle-lighting ceremony. These days, Steve’s legacy continues, and in January, the third season of Crikey! It’s the Irwins premiered on discovery +. Super popular across the world, many fans commented when Steve shared about refurbishing his dad’s old motorbike.

Taking to his Instagram on the weekend, Robert shared a photo of Steve on his bike. Then, he shared a photo of it looking brand new. Robert sat on it giving a thumbs-up. Then, he shared a short video of himself riding it. In his caption, Robert wrote, “I have so many memories of Dad’s old motorbike – hanging on to the front with Bindi as we’d ride around the zoo with Dad.”
Next, Robert Irwin told his fans that it stayed in the shed “for a few years.” But now it’s “all fixed up and running again.” Proudly, and in memory of his dad, he added, “It’s so special to be riding it after all this time!”
One fan commented, “Like many of us I grow up watching your father on TV and it amazing that you decided to follow in his footsteps but by carving your own path much respect for you.”
Another fan of Steve Irwin wrote, “I can’t even begin to think how big your dad’s smile is right now.”
