‘Yellowstone’ Fans Are Comparing Kayce To John Dutton
The Season 3 Finale of Yellowstone is by far one of the most disheartening moments in television history. The finale sees the Dutton family under attack from all angles. It is not yet known who is behind the vicious attacks. However, fans have a pretty good idea of who is involved. One of the would-be assassins is quite possibly one of the Dutton Families’ own. Fans watched a powerful character arc in Jamie Dutton as he learns his true background. He begins to question who he is and what his role truly is with John and the Dutton family. Whether Jamie comes to his senses or has really become a villain is yet to be seen.
There is much to speculate on before Season 4 of Yellowstone premieres this summer. However, fans on Reddit are turning their attention to Kayce Dutton.

Luke Grimes
Luke Grimes brings Kayce Dutton to life in the series Yellowstone. Born on January 21, 1984, in Dayton, Ohio, Luke Timothy Grimes has had a successful acting career. Other than playing Kayce Dutton on Yellowstone, Luke Grimes is also known for his role as Marc Lee in American Sniper as well as Elliot Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey films. Although he is best known as Kayce Dutton, Luke Grimes got his start in the 2006 horror film All the Boys Love Mandy Lane.

Fans of Yellowstone have gone to Reddit to discuss what will happen to Kayce Dutton. They are speculating on his future role with the ranch as well as if he will come to be just like John Dutton. One fan makes a comparison to another series saying,
“Kayce Dutton gives me serious John vibes from brave new World. His desperate need to do things differently will be there undoing. It parallels the dune series too.”
Another Reddit user comments on the thread making a comparison between Kayce and his father John Dutton.
“But does he really? We have had a few examples of Kayce doing something differently or expressing that he’d like to, but he quickly course corrects. More often then not (by a lot), he follows in the footsteps of his father. Presently, he is not as cold, and seems to have a more tender heart, but he’s not soft. I wouldn’t call it a desperate need from him at all, but rather Kayce finding the path that suits him best.
And to be fair, it wasnt under Kayce’s leadership that the ranch finds itself where it is. In financial straits, besieged from all sides. John stubbornly holds on to a way of life, and a method of accomplishing things, that is providing diminishing returns. Even Beth has told him that. Perhaps some adaptation and change is warranted.”
Like Father, Like Son
Like most fathers, John Dutton wants his children to become better than he is or ever was. John Dutton has aspirations of Kayce running the ranch and then handing it down to Tate. Kayce does not aspire to be exactly like his father. He does come to understand his father throughout the series. However, he will never become exactly like John Dutton. Neither he nor John Dutton wants this anyway.
