Motherhood is all about learning right? Dancing With The Stars pro Lindsay Arnold recently sat down with Us Weekly to talk about a few things she learned over the past several months.
Lindsay Arnold Is Adjusting To Being A First-Time Mom
One of the biggest lessons? Always remember your diaper bag and pack it well.
“One thing that I completely underestimated was how many diapers your baby is going to go through,” the dancer told the publication. “I was caught off guard and not prepared. I will safely say that was one thing I was not prepared for was the amount of diapers that we need. So, the ones that I have at this stage are Huggies. I know that we tried a couple [different brands], she would blow out and the others. So, Huggies have been the best for us.”
And every parent knows that when the baby has a blowout, you need to have backup outfits packed too.
“You gotta have multiple outfit changes — and I was unprepared for that too,” Lindsay continued. “The first time she blew out, luckily I was at my mom’s house. We get there, we take her out of her car seat, [and a] complete blowout [happened] all over her back. I’m like, ‘I don’t have any other outfits.’ So, she had to go home just in a diaper, wrapped up in a blanket.”
Lindsay keeps plenty of other baby products in the diaper bag, but a few things for herself too. She started carrying moisturizing products for her skin and lips. She said her skin and lips have been drying out really badly during her postpartum journey.
What’s On The Horizon For The Dancer?
Lindsay Arnold gave birth to her daughter Sage on November 2. Now that her little one is 3 months old, the dancer is trying to work her way back into a great workout routine. It’s her goal to compete on Dancing With The Stars in the fall when it returns for Season 30.
“[Being back by next season] is the goal,” the Season 25 champion told Us Weekly. “I’m super excited to be getting back and in DWTS shape. And then, of course, I’m super excited to dance again because that is a huge part of my fitness regimen.”
Right now, Lindsay is just trying to find a good balance of training and being a great mom. Her best friend Witney Carson gave birth in early January and just announced she wants to return to DWTS too. Having someone to train with will definitely be great for the new moms.
