Bachelor’s Matt James and Summer House’s Lindsay Hubbard were the guests on Watch What Happens Live on February 11. Matt James spilled some tea on what fans won’t see on the show. Host Andy Cohen asked James a question everyone wants to know, but few will ask.
During a game of “Truth Or Drink,” the guests have to answer questions or take a sip of their drink. The game kicked off in high gear with a TMI question for Matt James. “Have you ever needed to hide a boner from the Bachelor cameras?”
After laughing uproariously at the x-rated question, Matt James actually chose to answer it! He said that “a thousand percent, yes,” it has happened to him. He may have a strict policy about one-night stands, but as viewers know, he isn’t afraid of a makeout session. In fact, he was kissing Abigail Heringer the first night they met.
Bachelor Star Shares Tricks of the Trade
Unprompted by Andy Cohen, Matt James was more than happy to share examples. He said that “getting out of the hot tub” is one situation that… er… popped up.
In those situations, he suggests getting a towel or “have the production go ahead before you get out.”
Did He Feel Pressure to Choose a Black Woman?
Matt James first announced as the first Black Bachelor during the rise in racial tensions in 2020. But he is not the first Black lead on the franchise. That honor goes to former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay. Some of the things Rachel Lindsay went through during her season was a lesson for Matt James.
Entertainment Tonight reports that Matt James admits to feeling “a lot of pressure” to give a Black woman his final rose. He saw the backlash Rachel Lindsay got for choosing Bryan Abasolo instead of a Black man. The couple will celebrate their two-year wedding anniversary this summer.
While viewers won’t find out Matt James’ final pick for 100% certainty until probably March, there are rumors. Bachelor spoiler guru Reality Steve suggests that Rachael Kirkconnell is Matt James’ final pick.
